
Having only started a couple of years ago, billiards enthusiast Ralph Greenleaf has already become one of the country's best players. He has already participated in several cushion billiards events and placed in top 10 at the Illinois national 3-cushion-billiards tournament last month. He also regularly visits the Twin Cities' local billiards clubs every month.
Two of the most highly ranked billiards players in Vietnam are Tran Quyet Chien and Nguyen Quyet Nguyen. Both of these are ranked in the world's top ten. Both players are currently in the top eight with Tran Qyet Chien at number seven. Both players are the tournament's current champions. Ngo Dinh Nai is ranked number 29. Jeremy Bury from France ranks number 18.
On December 20-22, the 3-Cushion Carom Billiards Continental Cup in Vietnam will take place. The tournament will see eight top Vietnamese players competing. The total prize money is approximately 160,000 USD. Other events and tournaments will be held throughout year.

The United States Billiard Association (USBA) is the official governing body for carom billiards in the United States. The National Championship is one of the many events held each year by the USBA. The USA will be represented by the two top players at the Pan-American Championship.
The three cushion billiards tournaments that were held at Madison 3-Cushion Bingo Club were fiercely contested and competitive. In the tournament, there were two flights of six players. The tournament was handicapped. This meant that the semi-finals were reached by the first five participants in each flight. The top 12 players will each receive $7,400.
