Ralph Greenleaf is a passionate billiards player who started playing just a few years back. He has participated in three cushion billiards tournaments, and he was in the top 10 at the Illinois 3-cushion tournament. He has been regularly visiting the Twin Cities billiards club each month.
Nguyen Quyet Nguyen and Tran Quyetchien are two of Vietnam's most highly-ranked billiards players. These two players are among the top ten in the world. Both players currently rank in the top 8, with Tran Quyetchien at number 7. Both players are the tournament's defending champions. Ngo Dinh Nai is ranked no 29. Jeremy Bury of France is ranked 18
The next tournament to be held in Vietnam will be the 3-Cushion Carom Billiards Continental Cup on December 20-22 in Seoul. The tournament will see eight top Vietnamese players competing. The total prize money is approximately 160,000 USD. A number of events and other events will take place throughout the year in addition to this tournament.
The United States Billiard Association is the official governing body of carom-billiards in America. Each year, the National Championship culminates in a series events organized by The USBA. The USA will host the Pan-American Championship with the two best players from the National Championship.
The three Madison 3-Cushion Cushion Billiards Club tournaments were extremely competitive and highly contested. The tournament had two flights, each with six players. The tournament was handicapped. This meant that the semi-finals were reached by the first five participants in each flight. The top 12 players will each receive $7,400. The tournament was sponsored by First Business Bank of Madison and the tournament director was Bruce Venzke, the famous cue games legend.
UMB (Union of Billiards and Carom Billiards), who is the official body for 3-cushion Billiards, sponsored this tournament. UMB also hosts recurring tournaments throughout the year. The UMB Turnier Schedule will display a number of upcoming events.
The tournament took place in Binh Duong, a south province. It featured eight teams who battled for three nights. The top two teams advance to the semi-finals, while the third and fourth teams will advance to the quarterfinals. The final round is single elimination. The cash prize for the Las Vegas World Cup 3-cushion Billiards Tournament is $20,000. The semi-finals will be the first time that a Vietnamese representative has been sent to Las Vegas World Cup 3-cushion billiards tournament.
3-Cushion Billiards Tournament might be new, but it has grown in popularity throughout the world. It was also featured in the animated Disney short film Donald In Mathmagic Land. It was also featured the 2007 Goya Award-winning Spanish Film Seven Billiard Tables.
